He had chosen a life of solitude roaming the lands searching for answers to difficult and perplexing questions. Upon his travels by land and sea he came upon a disheveled old man a poor hermit besides himself with grief and sadness.
“In these lands of old, there is a dragon that every day demands the sacrifice of a beautiful young girl. All the maidens of this land have been brutally sacrificed…all that is left is the king's own daughter. In desperation the King is offering his daughters hand in marriage lest he manages to save her life!”
Saint George could smell the death in the air, this place of torture and decay was strewn with broken swords, torn dresses, and shattered bones. The princess stood forlorn and desolate awaiting her impending doom, Saint George approached her and softly said “go home, return to your father”.
Upon seeing Saint George the dragon charged with unyielding power and speed. Saint George raised his spear and charged fearlessly towards the beast…only for his spear to shatter into one thousand pieces the moment it touched the dragon’s scales…a great battle ensued, Saint George smote the dragon with his sword and the dragon unleashed venomous chards upon the brave knight. In a last-ditch attempt Saint George lunged blindly for the dragon, the sword plunged deep into the soft underbelly… gathering his last ounce of strength Saint George stood up and beheaded the foul beast.
Tired and aching, but victorious Saint George got back on his horse and made his way to the Palace….a beautiful maiden awaited him!
